little fighter

this little guy is truly a blessing. he had a rough start to his little life but came through everything with flying colors. he has some awesome parents and a great support system that helped him every step of the way. i was honored to be able to provide them with their first photo shoot for their little man. and to be able to capture some of those little details that are so important to capture when they are so small.

just loving this sweet expression.


he didn't want to miss a moment of the action. but luckily we snuck in a few snoozers...


this has to be one of my favorites. at first what you see is ten tiny toes...but if you look a little closer you'll see that the little guy has a smile on his face. guess he was having a good time :]

what fun!

that's all i can say, so much fun. i thoroughly enjoyed following these kiddos around and as an added bonus we were surrounded by all kinds of interesting backdrops...school buses, pumpkins and gardens ...oh my!

tough cookie

this little miss braved one of the coldest days in october to get her pictures taken. to let you know just how cold...the day before it snowed almost 3 inches! but she handled it like a true minnesotan and came through smiling! even if we had to take a break midway for a quick warm up in the car, she was a trooper. i just love her sweet expressions, even when she is not smiling she is just a doll. i hope mom and dad enjoyed them too!

a little taste of fall

i had the pleasure of photographing the older of these two sisters when she was just a wee one. this time i was happy to get to photograph both! and they are just plain adorable with such sweet personalities. we decided to dial up the fall and go play by the apple tree for most of the shoot. and my goodness were they busy collecting apples. they ended up with quite the pile!

happiest birthday boy

how can you not smile at this little guy, just one year old and happy as can be. even i couldn't stop smiling! and to top it off, it was a gorgeous day! and even though the session was supposed to be for the little guy we managed to sneak in a few with mom and dad (even if it was just their toes). it was hard to pick just a few, they are all so much fun. here goes nothing...




oh and did i mention the ice cream? oh yes, there was birthday ice cream. a fun and sticky mess but cute none the less. happy birthday little man!

must run in the family

this is a special birthday post. as i celebrate my birthday today i thought it would be fun to show off my very own birth announcement! yes, this is what my parents sent out when i was born. and yes, i am the one being held upside down by my brother. i thought it was a pretty creative announcement and worth sharing. so enjoy!

sweet siblings

this was a fun pair to photograph. we had a good time playing around in the garden and trying out some new things, like the "lets be a real life photo" game which created some fun shots. i just hope they had fun too!

birth announcements are fun!

just a little design i whipped up for a birth announcement. i forget sometimes how much i like doing design and pushing the envelope (pun intended) on the everyday card.


also, as i said before, there will be more...oh so much more. the wheels have been turning in my head. so be sure to check back for more new designs and maybe a few more cute kids too.

best buds (just not today)

these two little cuties are best of buds, from what i hear they play all the time. but the camera must've made them nervous because they didn't want to have anything to do with one another on the day of the shoot. ah well...still plenty of shots of boys being boys. that is what they do best.

sweet pea

this little darling is only one month old and oh so sweet. i kept trying to put the camera away but she just kept being cute, what's a girl to do? so we may have had a slightly longer session but the results were well worth it.

sweetness in shark boots

you can help but smile when you see this little girl in her sundress and shark boots. and odd combination, yes. completely adorable, totally! me and miss k had a grand old time romping around in a field of dandelions on a windy day back in may. it was hard to pick just a few favorites but here goes....
