year of handmade cards | birthday

Here is another addition to my plan to make a card for every occasion this year. This is one for the hubbies grandpa.

[my apologies for the poor and somewhat fuzzy picture quality, my SLR seems to be on the fritz so this was taken with my point and shoot....boo!]
stay tuned | in the next few weeks I hope to have a new assortment of invites to share!

new plan

So I have decided to set a plan in action to get more of my work out there for people to see. My plan is to make cards for all occasions this year (at least) whether it be a baby shower, a birthday or mothers day, everything will be handmade by yours truly. This was partially inspired by a new book I got about printing by hand, partially by my grandma but mostly just because it's fun! I think that letter/card writing was one of my first creative outlets and it is sadly becoming a lost art. I always enjoyed making cards to send to people and it is one of the reasons I started sonrisa creative.

Also, a few years ago when my grandmother passed away my family was cleaning out her stuff and found a box of letters that i had sent her over the years. This made me realize how much even the littlest thing can mean to someone. So this has caused me to make that little extra effort for every celebration/event or just because. So my apologies to those of you who's bday's have already passed this year (I'll catch you next year, promise). From here on out it's handmade all the way in honor of my grandma.

So here is the first of many posts to come about handmade cards. This one I made to send to some family members who have been going through a rough patch. I hope the little extra effort shows them that I care.

sweet little thank you

I was asked by some good friends of my husband to make some thank yous for their family. They had some photos taken with me not to long ago so we used a picture from the session and a few choice words and came up with this sweet little card. I hope they like it as much as I do!

holiday cards

So it looks like I am finally finished with my Holiday Cards for this year. Feel free to take a look, if you want to see them larger just click on the photo. And if you like what you see, drop me a line and let me know which one you'd like to order. Each card is 5x7 and printed front and back on high quality art paper. It is possible to customize your card somewhat so just let me know what you are looking for and I can let you know the details. Just remember to get your orders in soon the deadline for ordering if you want them for Christmas is November 30th! Enjoy!
